The Mission of Silicon Bayou: Houston, Texas™ is to address the racial and gender disparity in the high tech and Green Collar industries while reviving participation of inner city youth in the traditional building trades.
Silicon Bayou: Houston, Texas focuses on creating capacity and opportunities through research and development and entrepreneurship in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, coding, micro-processing, and light manufacturing. in addition, Silicon Bayou was created to further the Green collar economy by developing systems of alternative fuels, Solar energy, upcycling manufacturing processes as well as material recycling. Lastly, the silicon bayou is dedicated to a revival of the traditional trades (plumbing, carpentry, masonry, welding, electrical work) with a focus on training inner city youth.
Silicon Bayou: Houston, Texas will be headquartered on the Old Spanish Trail corridor in Southeast Houston, Texas. A Silicon Bayou Technology Center is planned as part of the A.C.T.I.O.N. Community Development Corporation’s Cullen to Calhoun Master Plan.
